Header
The header is pretty simple, but very important. It includes your name, e-mail and phone number. If you want the job, make it clear and easy to get ahold of you in your header.
Summary or objective statement
Depending on how you create your resume, you'll often include either a summary statement or an objective statement. The summary statement would be a brief, one-sentence summary of your experience. The objective statement would be a brief, one-sentence statement discussing what you hope to obtain out of sharing that resume — most likely, land a job.
Relevant work experience
Your relevant work experience will take up a majority of your resume. This is where you include all or some of your work history that's relevant to the job to which you are applying. This section can vary from job to job, so make sure you include what makes you look the best for the job to which you're applying. Typically, this section is organized in reverse chronological order, but it can also be arranged to highlight certain skills or experience.
Educational background
For this section, you will list your relevant educational background. Typically, this is just when and where you got a particular degree or diploma. For certain professions or recent graduates, listing relevant coursework would be included here as well.
Computer and/or language proficiencies
If you're proficient in different computer languages or software programs, you would list them here. Similarly, if you speak multiple languages, this would be the place to state what your level of proficiencies are in each language.
Skills
Sometimes there are skills you have that aren't highlighted enough in your work experience, or computer/language proficiencies. In this case, you'd list them in the skills section. Keep a close eye on the job description for inspiration on what to include here.
Interests and organizations
In this optional section, you can paint a little fuller picture of you as a person. Include professional organizations you're a part of, volunteer organizations you participate in (especially if they're relevant to the job), or even include interests that may help make your resume a little more memorable.
